Our company, International Cultivation Co., Ltd., and Sanyu Consultants INC., in a joint venture, have been implementing the “Capacity Development Project for promotion of market-oriented agriculture and improved Irrigation Scheme Management in River Nile State, Sudan”since April 2021 under contract with JICA. Five national staff members engaged in this project, including local staff, were awarded with the JICA President’s Award for their significant assistance in facilitating the evacuation of Japanese nationals during the conflict outbreak in 2023.
This project aims to establish and promote a market-oriented irrigation agriculture model and establish a dissemination system by improving irrigation and farming techniques for farmers and irrigation schemes through pilot activities and training. It also aims to enhance the technical dissemination environment of the Sudanese government. The project targets improving agricultural income for farmers in the target irrigation schemes.
